PHILADELPHIA - A new study reveals the ability of coffee to reduce the risk of endometrial cancer in women.
Reduced risk of these cancers arise only in those who consumed coffee in the long term, and in moderate to large levels of consumption.
Edward Giovannucci, MD. ScD, lead researcher and professor of nutritional epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health believes coffee is protective substances of cancer, particularly cancers associated with an imbalance of body weight, or the inability of the body process estrogen and insulin.
Launched by Softpedia, Thursday (24/11/2011), throughout the study period, the team identified 672 cases of endometrial cancer.
"Through the resulting effect on insulin, coffee has demonstrated its value as a protection from diabetes. Thus, we hypothesize will get a similar reduction in some types of cancer," said an expert from Harvard.
The team found out that drinking coffee daily 4 leads to reduced risk of endometrial cancer in women, approximately 255 percent. Even more surprising is, they also found a similar efficacy to decaffeinated coffee.
"Coffee has long been associated with smoking, and if you are drinking coffee and smoking, the positive effects of coffee remains greater than the negative effects of smoking. Although however, laboratory tests showed that coffee has more antioxidants than most fruits and vegetables," said Giovannucci
