STESS CAN HEALED WITH DREAM

CALIFORNIA - I make people feel therapy in one night. During the dream, stress-causing substances in a person's brain will stop working, while the brain will process the emotional experience and look for the end of a painful experience.

The discovery of the researchers of University of California offers some insights regarding the function of rapid eye movement (REM) associated with emotions. The findings also offer an explanation of why people with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) have difficulty recovering from the experience painful and recurrent nightmares.

Matthew Walker, a neuroscientist explains that dreams provide a calming balm relieve the pain of emotional experiences earlier days. As for people who have PTSD, "an evening therapy may not be able to work effectively. So when it appears a flashback, let's say an explosion triggered by the sound of a car kenalpot, they relive the whole experience once again, because his emotions during sleep has not really stripped. "

Launched by Scienceagogo, Monday (11/28/2011), Walker explains, "We know the condition when REM sleep so the levels of norepinephrine, a brain chemical that is associated with stress, experienced reduced significantly."

"During REM experience, the memory re-activation experience, develop perspectives, linking and integrating it. But this happens when the chemical conditions of stress-producing nerve is pressed," added Els van der Helm, co-author of the study. (tyo)
